Tourists looking to beat the winter blues may want to head to the picturesque shores of Cyprus!
The popular holiday spot has been named the best value destination for tourists looking for winter sun in 2019, closely followed by Canary Islands Lanzarote and Tenerife.
Cyprus came out top, specifically the city of Paphos.
It’s worth noting that during January, Cyprus isn’t as hot as you’d expect compared to the summer – in fact, temperatures tend to average around 16C, but there’s still heaps of sunshine.
So while it’s not quite ‘lazing on the beach’ weather, it is ideal for those who want to go exploring or want to do some sightseeing. Or of course, take a scenic stroll along one of the incredible beaches (just bring a jumper!).
The best part is that at the moment you could stretch your budget that little bit further thanks to the January sales, with travel agents slashing prices on everything from city breaks to beach holidays.
